Microcrystalline Cellulose

Microcrystalline Cellulose is a purified, partly depolymerised cellulose with shorter, crystalline polymer chains. Its strong binding performance make MCC one of the most commonly used fillers and binders in drug formulations, together with Lactose. The product is manufactured by controlled partial hydrolysis of high purity wood pulp, followed by purification and drying.


KEVAL EXPORTS currently offers three grades of Microcrystalline Cellulose :

  • KEVICEL PH 101
  • KEVICEL PH 102
  • KEVICEL PH 112
  • KEVICEL PH 200

These grades are ideally suited to be used in the majority of tablet and capsule formulations processed by direct compression, capsule filling, wet granulation, dry granulation or extrusion-spheronisation. While KEVICEL PH 101 is mainly applied in wet granulation and extrusion-spheronisation, KEVICEL PH 102 and KEVICEL PH 112 possess excellent properties for use in direct compression processes. KEVICEL PH 112 is recommended for application in formulations with moisture sensitive drugs, due to its low moisture content.

Cross Carmellose Sodium

It is as Crosslinked Polymer of Carboxy Methyl Cellulose Sodium with the property of better bio-availability and fast disintegration of pharmaceutical tablet is realised, understanding of super-disintegrants in pharmaceutical tablet formulation is also increasing. Although quest for superior quality superdisintegrant was not over. Superdisintegrant with better stability and superior performance at high tablet hardness level was sought.

Keval Exports has developed the product matching to all international standards through enormous development work. There has been various research done for new fast disintegrant (super disintegrants) for pharmaceutical tablets due to the realization of the importance of Bioavailability. Sodium Starch Glycolate has been result of extensive research work done for development of super disintegrants. The product is manufactured at Keval Exports i.e. Sodium starch Glycolate absorb water at a very fast rate resulting in enormous increase in the volume of particles, which develops internal pressure in the tablet causing rapid disintegration and fast dissolution of active ingredients of tablet. On absorption of water, Sodium starch Glycolate forms gel which is insoluble in water. It causes very uniform disintegration and the potential does not change even after prolonged storage. Without a disintegrant, tablets may not dissolve appropriately and may effect the amount of active ingredient absorbed, thereby decreasing effectiveness.

CMC CA

Carmellose calcium is white or creamish white in colour. Chemically, it is calcium salt of carboxy methyl cellulose with very high degree of purity. Very hard tablets with other superdisintegrants do not perform as well as Carmellose Calcium performs. Quantity to be used in pharmaceutical formulation is very less. Carmellose Calcium helps in dissolution of drugs having poor solubility

Sodium CMC

SODIUM CARBOXY METHYL CELLULOSE is a cellulose ether gum, being an anionic water-soluble polymer supplied as a GRANULES/COARSE/POWDER


Properties :

  • It is white to cream colour, available in number of grades and viscosity types with wide application. SODIUM CARBOXY METHYL CELLULOSE odorless, tasteless, non-toxic powder. It is highly soluble in both hot & cold water but dissolves faster in hot water than cold water.

Application :
  • Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (Na CMC) is used for its thickening and swelling properties in a wide range of complex formulated products for pharmaceutical, food, home, and personal care applications, as well as in paper, water treatment, and mineral processing industries.

RC 591

Kevicel RC 591is a water dispersible, spray-dried and, colloidal blend of microcrystalline cellulose and carboxymethylcellulose sodium. Formulations which include this excipient have low viscosity, high thixotropy and shows reduced settling.

Magnesium Stearate

Magnesium Stearate is a magnesium salt of stearic acid. It is an additive widely used by the pharmacological area because it provides various functionalities to the formulations since it has lubricating, water-repellent, anti-flake, and release properties which attribute it to the products that are made with it. It is also used in plastics as a lubricant.


Properties :

  • It is a light white powder with a fine appearance.
  • It is insoluble in water, ethanol, and ether.
  • It decomposes into stearic acid and the corresponding magnesium salt when acidic.
  • It is soluble in hot water and hot ethanol.
  • It feels smooth and greasy.

Application :
  • Food, medicine, paint, plastics, rubber, textiles, and other industries, mainly as an emulsifier, mold release agent, lubricant, stabilizer, accelerator, cosmetic base material, etc.
  • Magnesium stearate is also used as an active stabilizer in PVC production.
  • In addition, the substance is used as a supplement in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals
  • This substance partially replaces the white matt pigment, which also makes it possible to use it in cosmetics. In creams, it acts as a lubricant and significantly increases flow property or glides.

Calcium Carbonate

Calcium carbonate is an inactive chemical compound that is derived from mineral rock such as marble, limestone, etc. It is commonly found in rocks and is the main constituent of snails, shells of marine animals, pearls, and eggs. It is formed when calcium ions in hard water react with carbonate ions to create limescale. In aspect of medicinal purposes, it is used as a calcium supplement or as an antacid to reduce acidity, but over-consumption could be harmful and lead to poor digestion.
